After years of anticipation, the final instalment in the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy is set to arrive on April 8, 2027, for PlayStation, PC and other platforms.
The release date for Final Fantasy VII Revelation was announced during Sony’s State of Play livestream. It will conclude the trilogy that began with Final Fantasy VII Remake in 2020 and continued with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth in 2024.
The remake series has significantly updated the original game’s graphics and gameplay, replacing its traditional turn-based combat with a real-time action system.
Revelation will focus on the characters’ final confrontation with the villain Sephiroth and its aftermath. The game is expected to be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
Pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 version are already open, with early buyers set to receive two special in-game spells. A premium edition will also offer early access, exclusive items and future downloadable content.
Another title in the franchise, Final Fantasy Resonance, is scheduled for release on October 22 and will feature a more traditional role-playing game style.
