Robi Axiata PLC won five awards, including three Gold and two Silver, at the ESG Excellence Awards Bangladesh 2026, securing the highest number of awards among participating companies.
The awards were presented at a ceremony held on Saturday (Sept 5) at the Lakeshore Grand in Gulshan.
Organised by the UN Global Compact Network Bangladesh and ESG Institute Bangladesh, the awards recognise outstanding corporate achievements in embedding environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices into business operations.
Robi received Gold awards in the Worker Wellbeing & Workplace Improvement, Supply Chain & Distribution, and ESG Technology & Digital Innovation categories, the latter for its bdapps platform.
The company also received Silver awards in the Skills Development & Workforce Upskilling and Sustainable Brand Communication categories, both in recognition of initiatives involving bdapps.
Abdul Awal Mintoo, Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, attended the ceremony as the chief guest.
Managing Director of Dhaka Stock Exchange PLC Nuzhat Anwar, Ambassador and Head of Delegation of the European Union to Bangladesh Michael Miller, Ambassador of Sweden to Bangladesh Nicolas Weeks, and Executive Director of UN Global Compact Network Bangladesh Shahamin S. Zaman presented the awards to Robi officials.
Robi Chief People Officer Muhammad Shoaib Baig, Director of Supply Chain Management Mohammad Hafizur Rahman and Director of Customer Value Solutions Manik Lal Das received the awards on behalf of the company.
Ambassador of Denmark to Bangladesh Christian Brix Møller, Network Representative of UN Global Compact Network Bangladesh Farooq Sobhan, and Executive Director of ESG Institute Bangladesh Shadman Sakib Anik were also present.
The ESG Excellence Awards is a dedicated platform in Bangladesh for recognising corporate achievements in integrating ESG principles into business operations.
