Bangladesh has received approval from the Pakistani government to export fresh pineapples to Pakistan, opening a new opportunity to expand agricultural trade between the two countries.
The opportunity was created following several years of continuous communication and necessary measures by the Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad, the Deputy High Commission in Karachi, the Department of Agricultural Extension, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with relevant Pakistani agencies and authorities.
Bangladeshi pineapples are in considerable demand in Pakistan. The approval is expected to facilitate the export of pineapples while creating scope for expanding trade in other agricultural products and fruits between the two countries.
The development is also expected to help broaden bilateral trade and business ties between Bangladesh and Pakistan, says a press release issued by Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka.
