A delegation of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB), led by its President Md Kausar Alam, met Commerce Secretary Md Ataur Rahman Khan on Thursday to discuss strengthening professional collaboration and promoting good governance.
During the courtesy meeting at the Ministry of Commerce, the ICMAB delegation briefed the secretary on the institute’s ongoing activities, strategic priorities and initiatives aimed at strengthening the cost and management accounting profession in Bangladesh, according to a press release.
The two sides exchanged views on enhancing professional excellence, improving financial accountability, promoting transparency and supporting the country’s sustainable economic and industrial development.
The Commerce Secretary appreciated the role of cost and management accountants in national development through sound financial management, transparency and accountability.
He also commended ICMAB’s contribution to producing skilled accounting professionals and supporting both public and private sector institutions.
Ataur Rahman assured the delegation of the ministry’s continued cooperation in advancing initiatives that contribute to Bangladesh’s economic progress and institutional development.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to strengthening cooperation between the Ministry of Commerce and ICMAB to promote professional excellence and support sustainable economic growth.
The ICMAB delegation included Vice Presidents Abdul Matin Patwary and S M Zahir Uddin Haider, Secretary Monjur Md Shaiful Azam, Treasurer Prof Dr Md Musfiqur Rahman, and Executive Director Md Mahbub-Ul-Alam.
