Gold prices rise again after 3 consecutive cuts

DHAKA: Gold prices have risen again in Bangladesh after three consecutive cuts, with the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) increasing the price of gold by up to Tk2,216 per bhori, including VAT.

Following the latest adjustment, the price of one bhori (11.664 grams) of 22-carat gold stands at Tk230,772.

According to the BAJUS announcement, the new prices took effect at 10am on Wednesday (September 30). As a result, gold is being sold at the revised rates in the country’s market on Saturday (October 3).

According to the BAJUS price list, the price of 22-carat gold increased from Tk228,556 to Tk230,772 per bhori. The price of 21-carat gold is Tk220,391 per bhori, while 18-carat gold costs Tk189,248. Gold made under the traditional method is priced at Tk154,606 per bhori.

Meanwhile, silver prices remain unchanged despite the increase in gold prices. One bhori of 22-carat silver is selling for Tk4,316, while 21-carat silver costs Tk4,141, 18-carat silver Tk3,558 and traditional-method silver Tk2,683 per bhori.

The above gold and silver prices are applicable according to the rates set by BAJUS.
