DHAKA: Rain is likely in several parts of all eight divisions today, although much of the day is expected to remain sunny. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department said daytime temperatures may remain nearly unchanged due to persistent heat and humidity.
According to the latest forecast, the monsoon remains less active over the north Bay of Bengal, while a low-pressure area may form within the next 48 hours. Rainfall may continue over the country for the next five days.
The weather forecast issued Monday morning said light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds may occur at most places in Chattogram and Barishal divisions and at some places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna and Sylhet divisions from 1pm onward.
Some areas of Chattogram and Barishal divisions may experience moderate to very heavy rainfall.
At 6am, the temperature in Dhaka was 27°C, with relative humidity at 83%. The sky over the capital was partly cloudy, with winds blowing from the west or southwest at 8–12 kilometres per hour.
The Met Office said nighttime temperatures may fall slightly, while daytime temperatures are expected to remain almost unchanged.
Chattogram, Barishal and Sylhet may experience moderate to heavy rainfall over the next few days, while sunny and hot conditions are expected to persist in other parts of the country.
