DHAKA: The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast the possibility of a low-pressure system forming over the central Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas, which may bring rain and thundershowers to different parts of the country over the next five days.
The forecast was issued for the 120 hours from 9am Wednesday (October 7).
According to the Met Office, on Wednesday, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds may occur at a few places in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, and at one or two places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions. Daytime temperatures may remain nearly unchanged across the country, while nighttime temperatures may fall slightly.
On Thursday (October 8), many places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka and Khulna divisions, and a few places in Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, may experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds. Moderate to heavy rain may also occur at some places. Daytime temperatures may fall slightly, while nighttime temperatures may remain nearly unchanged.
On Friday (October 9), many places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka and Khulna divisions and a few places in Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions may experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds. Moderate to heavy rain may occur at some places. Both daytime and nighttime temperatures may fall slightly across the country.
On Saturday (October 10), light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds may occur at one or two places in all eight divisions. Daytime temperatures may rise slightly, while nighttime temperatures may remain nearly unchanged.
On Sunday (October 11), a few places in Chattogram and Sylhet divisions may experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds. Elsewhere, the weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy skies. Both daytime and nighttime temperatures may rise slightly across the country.
