Donald Trump has rejected reports of US weapons shortages, insisting the Pentagon holds “massive amounts of munitions” and vowing to identify those responsible for leaks.
His comments came as Iran signalled that a deal with Oman to reopen the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz is close to completion.
Tehran said the agreement is “on the verge of being finalised,” with both sides having agreed on navigation coordinates to safely resume shipping through the waterway—one of the world’s most critical water transit routes.
The Strait has faced severe disruption since the outbreak of conflict between the United States and Iran earlier this year, raising global concerns over energy supplies and shipping security.
Meanwhile, Yemen’s Houthi group claimed attacks on two Saudi oil tankers near Yanbu port in the Red Sea and in the Gulf of Aden, further escalating regional tensions.
In a separate development, Israel carried out deadly air strikes in southern Lebanon following the deaths of two Israeli soldiers in an explosion in Majdal Selem.
The overlapping crises highlight the fragile security situation across the Middle East, even as diplomatic efforts continue to ease tensions and restore vital trade routes.
