Russia said it intercepted and destroyed 605 Ukrainian drones overnight in one of the largest aerial assaults in recent months, according to the Russian Defence Ministry.

In a statement on Thursday, the ministry said its air defence systems had countered drone attacks across multiple regions, including the annexed Crimea.

Authorities reported damage in the Tver region, about 180km northwest of Moscow, where debris from a downed drone struck a logistics centre belonging to Wildberries.

Regional governor Vitaly Korolyov said the attack had been repelled and no injuries were reported, though the building’s facade sustained minor damage.

In the Yaroslavl region, governor Mikhail Yevrayev described the attack as the “most massive” targeting the area, with 92 drones shot down. Falling debris sparked fires in homes and damaged vehicles, he said.

Ukraine has repeatedly targeted infrastructure linked to Wildberries in recent weeks, as long-range strikes intensify on both sides.

More than four years into the war, diplomatic efforts remain stalled, while Russia and Ukraine continue to escalate aerial attacks, increasing pressure on air defence systems and raising the risk of civilian harm.
