Iran’s semi-official Mehr News Agency has released rare video footage of Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, marking one of his few public appearances since he assumed the country’s top leadership post.
The footage was released on August 8 through Mehr News Agency’s social media platforms and official website.
Reports said the video showed Khamenei during a religious lesson session.
Mojtaba Khamenei became Iran’s Supreme Leader in March 2026, succeeding his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, following his death in US-Israeli strikes.
His limited public appearances since taking office have fueled speculation about his health and ability to govern.
The newly released footage therefore carries significance as an indication that he remains publicly active.
