Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that it has shot down more than 200 “enemy aircraft” since the start of the war.
IRGC Deputy Commander-in-Chief Major General Mostafa Izadi made the claim, saying the aircraft were downed as part of Iran’s military response and broader efforts in the “soft and cognitive domains”.
Izadi said the Iranian people’s “valuable movement”, combined with the country’s military actions, had produced effects at both regional and global levels.
He described the ongoing conflict as a “hybrid war”, accusing Iran’s opponents of seeking to create instability inside the country alongside their military operations.
The IRGC commander also rejected claims that Iran’s political system had weakened or that the country had become divided.
“Iran has not been divided, nor has the Islamic system been weakened,” he said, claiming that the Islamic Republic had demonstrated greater strength and resilience than before.
However, there has been no independent confirmation of Izadi’s claim that more than 200 “enemy aircraft” have been shot down. The figure remains a claim by Iran’s military leadership.
