Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has warned that the United States will face an “unforgettable lesson” following the launch of US military strikes on Iran, Al Jazeera reported.
In a post on X on Tuesday (September 1), Khamenei said Iran’s resistance forces had the capability to deliver what he described as an “unforgettable lesson” to the United States.
The US began airstrikes on targets in Iran at noon Eastern Time on Tuesday. Iran’s Fars News Agency reported that at least four people, including a child, were killed in the attacks.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed it had launched ballistic missile strikes on a US Marine Corps facility known as Camp Titein near the Gulf of Aqaba in Jordan.
In a statement broadcast by Iran’s state-run IRIB, the IRGC claimed that several US personnel were killed and that multiple facilities and military helicopters were destroyed. The IRGC also vowed to continue retaliatory attacks in response to US strikes in southern Iran.
The casualty and damage claims from the conflicting sides could not be independently verified.
