Saudi Arabia has eased the process for highly skilled foreign workers seeking to bring their families to the kingdom.
Under the new arrangement, eligible workers can begin the process of securing entry visas for their family members before their own work visa procedures are fully completed.
The initiative has been introduced jointly by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development to improve the quality of life for residents and streamline visa procedures for highly skilled foreign workers.
Under the new rules, eligible workers can bring their spouses, sons under 25 and unmarried daughters to Saudi Arabia. Entry visas for family members may be issued while the worker’s own work visa application is still being processed.
Previously, workers had to wait until their work visas were fully processed before starting the process of bringing their families to the kingdom.
However, applicants must meet all the prescribed requirements to qualify for the facility.
The ministries said family members can complete the process of obtaining residence permits after arriving in Saudi Arabia, in accordance with the kingdom’s applicable laws and regulations.
