Three missiles launched from Iranian territory landed in different areas of Jordan early Sunday, causing minor material damage but no casualties, according to a military source.
The Jordan Armed Forces said Royal Engineering Corps teams were immediately deployed to secure the sites and safely handle the missile remnants, while authorities continued monitoring the situation.
The source stressed that Jordan will not allow its airspace or territory to become a battleground.
“The armed forces will respond firmly to any threat to the country’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and the safety of its citizens,” the statement said, adding that all units remain on high alert.
The incident comes amid escalating regional tensions following fresh U.S. strikes on Iranian military targets earlier in the day, prompting retaliatory attacks by Iran on American bases and facilities across the Gulf.
Missile alerts were reported in Bahrain, while attacks were also cited in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.
Iranian media claimed the strikes targeted U.S. military installations in Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar, while Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it also hit support and refuelling facilities for U.S. naval vessels at Oman’s Port of Duqm.
