JS holds July Uprising Painting Competition for Children

Dhaka: The Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat organized a children’s painting competition at the National Parliament Complex in the capital to commemorate July Uprising Day 2026.

Held under the theme “July ’24 Through Colors and Brushes,” the competition brought together children from various educational institutions across Dhaka on Wednesday at the conference room of the North Plaza of the National Parliament Building.

The competition was divided into two categories: the first for children aged 5 to 8 years, and the second for participants over 8 and up to 12 years of age.

The event was visited by Member of Parliament Shawkat Ara Akter and Secretary of the Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat, Barrister Md. Golam Sarwar Bhuiyan.

Speaking at the event, Shawkat Ara Akter said that July is not merely a period in time but a symbol of the nation’s consciousness and inspiration. She noted that the children’s artwork reflected that spirit and would help instill a sense of history and patriotism among the younger generation.

Barrister Md. Golam Sarwar Bhuiyan said the paintings clearly demonstrated how children perceived the significance of July. He added that such initiatives would provide future generations with an opportunity to learn about the country’s history and important national events.

Senior officials of the Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat were also present at the event.
