GDJF’s new committee assumes office

The newly elected committee of the Greater Dhaka Journalists Forum (GDJF) formally assumed office at a joint meeting and handover ceremony held at the Maulana Mohammad Akram Khan Hall on the third floor of the National Press Club on Tuesday morning.

The meeting was chaired by outgoing President Farid Hossain, while Sumon Islam conducted the proceedings.

Among those who addressed the meeting were Morsalin Babla, ABM Rafiqur Rahman, Mohammad Momin Hossain, Atikul Islam, Rashedul Haque, Galman Shafi, Delwar Hossain Badal, and Lutfur Rahman.

The speakers expressed hope for the continued progress and success of the organisation and pledged their full support to the new leadership. They also stressed the importance of strengthening communication and solidarity among journalists living in the greater Dhaka region.

They underscored the need to organise seminars, symposiums and issue-based workshops to enhance professional skills and foster closer engagement among members.

Later, outgoing President Farid Hossain and General Secretary Morsalin Babla formally handed over the responsibilities of the organisation to the newly elected President Nuruddin Ahmed and General Secretary Mohammad Momin Hossain.

Speaking on the occasion, the new president pledged to work collectively to strengthen the organisation and expand its activities.

Committee members, including Kawsar Rahman, SM Monirul Islam, Anjan Rahman, Nurunnabi Robi, and Kushar Yasir, were also present at the ceremony.
