Police have arrested seven people in the capital’s Banani on allegations of planning sabotage and claimed they were associated with the activities of the banned Awami League and its affiliated organisations.
According to police, the suspects were detained during a raid conducted around 12:20 am on Thursday night on the opposite side of the Army Stadium in Banani.
During the operation, law enforcers recovered 70 torches, a banner and 77 face masks from their possession.
Police said further legal action is underway.
