The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 132 suspects in special drives conducted across several areas of the capital, including Tejgaon, Hazaribagh, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar and Mirpur Model police station jurisdictions, as part of its ongoing campaign against crime.
Of the arrestees, 82 were picked up during regular operations in different crime-prone areas under the Tejgaon Division on Wednesday, police said.
In separate drives, Hazaribagh Police Station arrested 15 suspects during a special operation in its jurisdiction today, while Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station arrested 13 suspects in a similar drive on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Mirpur Model Police Station arrested 22 individuals during a special operation on Wednesday across several crime-prone locations within its jurisdiction.
The arrestees include suspects in regular and warrant-related cases, as well as people allegedly involved in various criminal offences.
Police said all the arrested individuals were involved in criminal activities and have been produced before the respective courts for legal proceedings.
The special operations are part of the DMP’s continued efforts to maintain law and order, curb criminal activities and strengthen public safety across the capital.
