Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Dinesh Trivedi has reportedly travelled to New Delhi suddenly after holding three high-level meetings with Bangladesh’s top leadership in Dhaka.
According to diplomatic sources, Trivedi is expected to brief India’s Ministry of External Affairs on the messages and positions conveyed during those meetings, particularly regarding Bangladesh’s current stance toward India.
His trip comes amid renewed tensions between Dhaka and New Delhi following former prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s recent media address from India.
Bangladesh has strongly objected to her political statements, while India has said it is reviewing Dhaka’s extradition request through its legal procedures.
Trivedi’s visit is therefore being viewed as significant for understanding New Delhi’s next diplomatic steps toward Dhaka.
