A bomb exploded in front of the Barishal Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Wednesday (August 12), triggering panic among lawyers and judges.
The explosion occurred at around 10:30 a.m., just inside the main gate of the 10-story court building. Witnesses present on the court premises said everyone began running in panic after hearing the loud blast.
Kamrul Islam, an administrative officer of the CMM Court, said the police commissioner and other senior police officials visited the scene. He added that the authorities were assisting police in identifying those responsible by reviewing CCTV footage.
Al Mamun Islam, officer-in-charge of Barishal Kotwali Model Police Station, said bomb disposal unit personnel were working at the scene. Samples from the exploded device had been collected, while additional police personnel had been deployed in the area.
The situation is currently under police control.
