Thunderstorms expected in Dhaka, storm forecast for 8 regions

Dhaka and its adjoining areas may experience rain or thundershowers, while temporary gusty winds accompanied by rain or thunderstorms are forecast for eight regions across the country, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

The eight regions are Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar and Sylhet. Winds from the south or southeast may reach 45–60 kmph in these areas, prompting a No. 1 warning signal at the river ports.

For Dhaka and neighbouring areas, the sky may remain partly cloudy to temporarily cloudy, with rain or thundershowers possible.

Winds may blow from the south or southeast at 10–15 kmph.

The weather department has also forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds in several parts of the country.
