Rain, thunderstorms likely across country

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds, across different parts of the country over the next 24 hours from 9:00 am today.

According to a Met Office bulletin, rainfall is likely at many places in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, while a few areas in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions may also experience showers.

The bulletin added that moderately heavy to heavy rainfall could occur in parts of Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.

Day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged nationwide.

On Sunday, the highest temperature was recorded at 35°C in Rangpur, while today’s lowest temperature was 24.4°C in Sylhet and Bandarban.

In the past 24 hours until 6:00 am, Kutubdia recorded the highest rainfall at 81 millimetres.

In Dhaka, the sun will set at 6:41 pm today and rise at 5:29 am tomorrow.
