The United States has announced more than $3.6 million in humanitarian assistance for Nepal following catastrophic flooding that has killed hundreds and left nearly 3,000 people missing.

The US State Department said the aid would include up to three months of emergency food assistance for as many as 10,000 flood-affected households.

“The United States is standing with the people of Nepal,” the State Department said in a post on X on Saturday, expressing support for those affected by the disaster.
