Three people, including a woman, were shot and injured in indiscriminate firing in the Swamibagh-Munsirtek area of Gandaria in Dhaka on Sunday evening (August 30).
The injured were identified as tea-stall owner Alamgir, 33, passerby Siam, 18, and passerby Asha Akter, 20. Siam sustained a gunshot wound to the left side of his chest, Alamgir was shot in the head, and Asha suffered a gunshot wound to her right leg.
According to the injured, a clash and gunfire suddenly broke out in the area around 7pm. Siam was trying to close the shutter of a tea stall when he was hit by a bullet.
Alamgir was inside his tea stall when he was shot, while Asha was caught in the crossfire while walking along the road.
The three injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment.
Police said legal action was being taken over the incident.
