Saudi Arabia’s King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh is set to resume operations on Sunday after a two-week closure following deadly attacks attributed to Yemen’s Houthi rebels, according to a report by Dhaka Post citing AFP.
The airport was closed on October 12 after attacks reportedly killed more than a dozen people.
In a post on X on Saturday, the airport authority announced that Terminal 1 would handle domestic flights from October 25, while Terminal 2 would serve international flights operated by Saudia, the country’s national carrier.
The attacks reportedly targeted Riyadh airport multiple times over the past two weeks, leaving at least 18 people dead there.
A separate attack on King Fahd International Airport in Dammam reportedly killed at least five more people.
The reopening comes amid heightened security concerns following the attacks.
