Dhaka University Assistant Professor Shehrein Amin Bhuiyan, known as Monami, has filed a general diary (GD) with Shahbagh Police Station, seeking security after her personal information was allegedly shared on social media and she received threats.
She filed the GD on Sunday (August 30), according to police and the complaint.
The GD states that a Facebook page published her personal phone number, email address and home address without her permission.
She subsequently received calls from unknown numbers containing abusive remarks and threats.
Monami said the disclosure of her home address had made her feel unsafe at her residence and raised concerns about the security of herself and her family.
She sought police protection and legal action against those responsible.
Shahbagh police said they have launched an investigation and are working to identify those involved.
