The three-day 11th BAPA FoodPro International Expo 2026, one of Bangladesh’s major exhibitions on food processing, packaging and related technologies, will begin on Thursday at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka.

The exhibition, jointly organised by the Bangladesh Agro-Processors’ Association (BAPA) and Rainbow Exhibition and Event Management Services Limited (REEMS), will continue until September 12.

More than 200 brands from 27 countries are expected to participate in this year’s event, with the organisers expecting more than 24,000 visitors over the three days.

The exhibition will remain open to visitors from 10am to 7pm on September 10 and 11, and from 10am to 6:30pm on September 12.

The organisers shared details of the exhibition at a press conference at the BAPA office in Sobhanbagh, Dhaka, on Tuesday.

BAPA President Mahbub Anam, General Secretary Syed Muhammad Shoaib Hasan, Expo Organising Committee Chairman and PRAN-RFL Group Chief Executive Officer Ahsan Khan Chowdhury, and BAPA Treasurer Minhaj Ahmed, among others, attended the press conference.

Companies participating in the exhibition will showcase technologies and solutions related to food processing, filling, packaging, coding and marking, labelling, quality inspection, warehousing, cold-chain management and logistics.

This year’s exhibition will place particular emphasis on emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence-powered automation, machine vision, robotics, smart factory systems and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).

Advanced food-processing machinery, sustainable packaging materials and environmentally friendly packaging designs will also be featured.

The organisers said more than 4,000 technology- and machinery-based solutions would be presented at the exhibition, offering entrepreneurs and industry representatives an opportunity to explore the latest developments in food processing and packaging.

Participating countries include Algeria, Australia, Bangladesh, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Poland, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Türkiye, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States.

More than 100 experts and industry leaders are expected to take part in regional conferences, technical sessions, seminars and practical activities during the three-day event.

BAPA President Mahbub Anam said the adoption of modern technology was essential for the continued development of Bangladesh’s agro-processing and food-processing sectors.

“This exhibition will introduce entrepreneurs to new technologies and play an important role in expanding investment, production and exports,” he said.

Ahsan Khan Chowdhury said growing uncertainty in the global and domestic business environment was encouraging industrial enterprises to strengthen their technological capabilities.

He said BAPA FoodPro International Expo 2026 would help companies connect with technologies, business partners and industry knowledge needed to improve efficiency and develop more sustainable operations.

“The event will play an important role in strengthening the entire value chain, from production and processing to packaging, warehousing and logistics,” he said.

The Food Ingredients Bangladesh Expo 2026 will also be held at the same venue. It will showcase functional foods and beverages, nutraceuticals, alternative proteins, plant-based formulations and sustainable food ingredients.

Other attractions of the event will include the Session Stage, FP Gourmet, Drinksphere, the Global Food Security and Technology Forum, and the Creative Design Village.

The organisers said the exhibition would provide a platform for entrepreneurs, manufacturers, technology providers, investors and industry experts to exchange ideas, explore new technologies and develop business partnerships.

The event is expected to highlight how advanced technologies can help Bangladesh’s growing food-processing industry improve productivity, ensure food quality and safety, reduce waste and strengthen its competitiveness in international markets.
