The AmeriBangla US Cotton Warehouse is set to open in Chattogram on November 18, aiming to strengthen the logistics and supply chain for US cotton in Bangladesh.
The facility will initially operate from a leased warehouse with an inventory capacity of 80–100 metric tonnes.
The company plans to establish a permanent facility at the Anwara Free Trade Zone, with potential support from US federal agencies, including the USDA, US State Department and US EXIM Bank.
AmeriBangla officials identified bureaucratic delays and uncertainty over tax policies as key operational challenges.
However, they expressed confidence in market stability, noting that cotton prices in Bangladesh generally track global and US cotton futures.
The initiative is expected to improve the reliability and efficiency of the US cotton supply chain for Bangladesh’s textile and garment industry.
