A month-long Islamic book fair will begin at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in Dhaka on Friday, September 11, marking Eid-e-Miladunnabi 1448 Hijri.
Organised by the Islamic Foundation’s Publications Department, the fair will open at 10am at the mosque’s eastern and southern premises.
A total of 206 local and foreign publishing houses and Islamic book publishers will participate in the fair, according to the Islamic Foundation.
The fair will feature books on the Holy Quran, Hadith, Seerah, Islamic philosophy, history, research and religious literature, as well as Islamic books for children and teenagers.
The organisers expect the fair to bring together readers, writers, publishers and Islamic literature enthusiasts from across the country and promote Islamic knowledge, reading habits and moral values.
They also hope the event will help spread the teachings of the Quran and Hadith, the life and ideals of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and Islam’s messages of peace, equality, humanity and welfare, particularly among the younger generation.
