The month-long Islamic book fair at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in Dhaka will begin on Saturday (September 12), instead of Friday as originally scheduled.
The opening ceremony will be held at 5:30pm on Saturday at the mosque’s eastern and southern courtyards, the Islamic Foundation said on Thursday.
The fair was originally scheduled to open at 10am on Friday. The schedule was changed later, said Billal Bin Kashem, public relations officer of the Islamic Foundation.
A large number of local and foreign publishing houses are expected to participate in the fair, including many prominent Bangladeshi publishers.
Visitors will find a wide range of books, including the Holy Quran, Hadith, Seerah, Islamic literature, research works, history and culture, as well as religious and moral education books for children and teenagers.
The Islamic Foundation hopes the fair will help promote Islamic knowledge, reading habits and moral values among people from all walks of life.
The foundation has requested all concerned to attend the opening ceremony at the revised time of 5:30pm on Saturday.
