US President Donald Trump has said he will decide soon whether the United States will join military operations against Yemen’s Houthi rebels following an attack on Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh International Airport.
Speaking to reporters at the White House on Saturday, Trump said the US could take part in the operation, adding that he had only just learned of the attack and would make a decision quickly.
“We may join in. We’ll look at it,” he said, adding that the United States acts swiftly.
On Friday, Trump expressed concern over Houthi attacks targeting civilians and infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. Speaking to reporters on the South Lawn of the White House, he said he was unhappy with the situation.
