DHAKA: The government is working to identify two Bangladeshis killed in a Houthi attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Bangladesh mission in Riyadh is maintaining communication with Saudi authorities to collect detailed information about the Bangladeshi nationals killed and injured in the attack and ensure necessary assistance for those affected.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed the information in a press release on Sunday.
In the statement, Bangladesh strongly condemned the deadly Houthi attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on October 10. Two Bangladeshis were killed in the attack, while many others were injured, several of them reportedly in critical condition.
The statement expressed deep condolences to the families of the deceased and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
Describing attacks that endanger civilian lives and target civilian infrastructure as unacceptable, Bangladesh called for an immediate end to such attacks.
Dhaka also reaffirmed its strong solidarity with the government and people of Saudi Arabia in the wake of the attack.
Against the backdrop of the ongoing crisis, Bangladesh called for an immediate cessation of hostilities, the protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure, and a peaceful resolution to the crisis through dialogue and diplomacy to ensure regional peace, security and stability.
