The prime minister is also scheduled to visit two other Puja mandaps in Rajshahi and Chattogram on the same day.
Rangpur Deputy Commissioner Israt Jahan said extensive preparations were underway ahead of the visit.
Authorities are also preparing the Sri Sri Karunamayi Kalibari Temple and Guptapara Temple as possible alternative venues.
Local BNP leaders and activists are also making preparations for the prime minister’s visit.
