Bangladesh received US$10.72 billion in inward remittances between July 1 and October 24 of the current fiscal year, marking an 11.9 per cent increase from the same period a year earlier, according to Bangladesh Bank data.

Expatriate Bangladeshis sent $2.13 billion during the first 24 days of October, compared with $2.002 billion in the corresponding period of October 2025, representing year-on-year growth of 6.7 per cent.

The latest figures indicate continued growth in remittance inflows, which remain a major source of foreign exchange for the country.

During the six days from October 19 to 24, Bangladesh received $294 million in remittances.

The cumulative inflow of $10.72 billion compares with $9.58 billion recorded during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.

Remittances play a vital role in supporting Bangladesh’s foreign exchange reserves, meeting import payments and sustaining household consumption. The continued growth in formal-channel inflows also helps strengthen the country’s external financial position.
