Van driver killed in 4-vehicle crash in Gopalganj

A van driver was killed in a collision involving four vehicles at Bhatiapara intersection in Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj on Tuesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Shahidul Islam, 35, son of Amin Sheikh of Charbhatpara village in Kashiani.

The accident occurred around 7:30am on Tuesday (November 3).

According to eyewitnesses, a Dhaka-bound passenger bus of Emad Paribahan, which had departed from Khulna, was making an illegal turn at Bhatiapara intersection when it first collided with a covered van.

The covered van then hit a Dola Paribahan bus parked in front of it, pushing the bus onto another local bus.

At the time, the driver of a motorised van standing nearby was run over by the wheels of the Dola Paribahan bus and died on the spot.

Sub-Inspector Md Rajib of Kashiani Highway Police Station confirmed the incident.
