Two students of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) died after going into a campus pond for a bath on Wednesday, just 15 days after another student died in the same pond.
The incident occurred at the pond beside Kazi Nazrul Islam Hall on Wednesday.
The deceased were Arnab Dutta, a student of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and Shanto Deb of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Both were from Moulvibazar.
Earlier, on July 28, Arnab Saha, a student of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, died after entering the same pond for a bath.
CUET Student Welfare Director Professor Saiful Islam told bdnews24.com that the two students went to the pond for a bath around noon. They were rescued and taken to Evercare Hospital, where doctors declared them dead.
