A major fire broke out at a plastic factory in the Narikelbag area of Keraniganj, on the outskirts of Dhaka, on Monday afternoon.
Eight firefighting units are working to bring the blaze under control at Aman Plastic Factory.
Talha Bin Jasim, an official of the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters’ media department, confirmed the incident to the media.
He said the fire service received information about the fire at 12:30pm. Five units initially rushed to the scene, while three more units later joined the firefighting operation.
Firefighters are making strenuous efforts to bring the fire under control. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage have not yet been reported.
