One person was killed in a fire at a plastic factory in Keraniganj, on the outskirts of Dhaka, on Monday. The victim’s identity has not yet been established.
The fire broke out at Aman Plastic Factory in the Narikelbag area around noon and was brought under control at around 2pm.
Talha Bin Jasim, an official of the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters’ media department, said eight firefighting units worked to extinguish the blaze.
He said the fire service received information about the fire at 12:25pm, and firefighters reached the scene at 12:32pm.
Five units initially began firefighting operations, with three more units joining later.
