Md Jahangir Alam, director general of the Government Employees Hospital and an additional secretary, has been appointed the new divisional commissioner of Rangpur.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification on Thursday night announcing his appointment.
Meanwhile, Rangpur Divisional Commissioner Md Shahidul Islam, also an additional secretary, has been promoted to Grade 1 and made an officer on special duty (OSD).
Shahidul Islam assumed office as Rangpur’s 10th divisional commissioner on October 27, 2024. He also served as administrator of Rangpur City Corporation.
