Prime Minister Tarique Rahman left Dhaka by road on Monday morning for a daylong visit to Barishal, his first official tour to the southern district since assuming office.
The prime minister departed from his Gulshan Avenue residence in the capital for Barishal, where he is scheduled to attend a series of public and organisational programmes. According to his itinerary,
Tarique Rahman will take part in a tree plantation programme and a Family Card distribution ceremony beside the newly excavated Sarikal Canal in Batajore Union under Gournadi upazila.
Later in the day, he will participate in another tree plantation programme at Sagardi, adjacent to the Trish Godown Memorial in Barishal district headquarters.
In the afternoon, the prime minister is scheduled to attend an organisational meeting of his party at the Barishal District Shilpakala Academy. The prime minister is expected to return to Dhaka in the evening following the completion of his engagements
