Five graduating students of the University of Chittagong (CU) secured on-the-spot job offers during a day-long career and recruitment fair organised by Nagad, the digital financial service of Bangladesh Post Office, on Wednesday.

Held in collaboration with the MBA Association of the University of Chittagong (MAUC), the event titled “Nagad Navigate: Shape Your Future” took place at the university’s BBA Auditorium, attracting hundreds of students eager to explore career opportunities in the country’s growing fintech sector.

Nagad’s recruitment team conducted on-site CV screening, interviews and candidate assessments for a range of entry-level positions, including Territory Officer (TO), Territory Manager (TM), Sales Team roles, and the company’s flagship internship programme, N-Risers. Hundreds of students submitted their resumes during the event.

Among the participants, five graduating students received immediate job offers following successful interviews.

Expressing her excitement, newly recruited candidate Farhana Alam Nipa said receiving a job offer directly on campus was an unforgettable experience.

“The recruitment process was smooth, and the direct feedback from the HR team gave me confidence about starting my career,” she said.

Another successful candidate, Md Ridoy, said the initiative provided valuable insight into what leading corporate employers expect from fresh graduates while creating direct employment opportunities.

Speaking at the event, Syed Himyanuddin Ahmed, Senior Associate Administrator of Nagad, said the initiative was aimed at narrowing the gap between academic education and industry requirements.

“The enthusiasm and potential demonstrated by Chittagong University students reaffirm our commitment to developing local talent,” he said.

Ahmed also conducted a session on artificial intelligence (AI), where students participated in an interactive question-and-answer segment and won prizes.

ANM Wazed Ali, Vice-President of the MBA Association of the University of Chittagong, said such initiatives offer students outside Dhaka greater exposure to corporate recruitment practices.

He noted that bringing interviews, CV screening and career counselling directly to the campus helps students prepare for professional careers while enabling employers to identify promising talent at an early stage.

The event also featured a series of career development sessions on digital financial services, resume writing, workplace professionalism and the growing role of artificial intelligence in future careers. Students additionally received one-to-one career counselling from HR professionals and participated in quizzes and recreational activities.

The Chittagong University programme follows a similar campus recruitment drive recently organised by Nagad at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), as part of its nationwide youth employment initiative.
