Saudi Arabia has faced a series of missile and drone attacks amid escalating military tensions involving Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels and the Saudi-led coalition.

According to reports, Saudi air defence systems intercepted a ballistic missile launched towards Khamis Mushait in the kingdom’s southwest.

Authorities have not provided detailed information about possible casualties or damage from that interception.

The latest attacks come amid growing concerns over the security of Saudi Arabia’s critical infrastructure, including airports and oil facilities.

Recent strikes have targeted locations in Riyadh and the kingdom’s eastern region, disrupting airport operations and raising regional security concerns.

The Houthis have intensified their attacks in retaliation for Saudi-led military operations in Yemen. Saudi authorities and coalition forces have reported intercepting several missiles and drones, although responsibility for some recent incidents remains unclear.

The developments have heightened concerns about further escalation in the region.
