Iran has received no response from Saudi Arabia or Yemen’s Houthi group to its offer to mediate talks aimed at ending the fighting between the two sides, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has said.

Araqchi offered to facilitate dialogue earlier this month as the Iran-aligned Houthis intensified attacks on Saudi Arabia, raising concerns over escalating regional tensions.

In an interview with Iraq’s Al Ekhbariya TV aired on Tuesday, Araqchi also warned that foreign intervention in the Yemeni conflict would complicate the situation.

He said Egypt had previously informed Tehran that it would not directly intervene in the conflict.

However, Egypt has expressed readiness to support Saudi Arabia in defending its security.

Meanwhile, a vote in the Egyptian parliament on possible military action against the Houthis has been postponed until October 26.

The developments come amid heightened tensions in the region and concerns that further military involvement could widen the conflict.
