DHAKA: The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police has arrested Dilip Kumar Agarwala, managing director of Diamond World, in a case filed over alleged money laundering of around Tk 6.78 billion through gold and diamond smuggling.
He was arrested from the capital’s Banani area on Monday evening, October 19.
A DB team arrested Agarwala based on a requisition from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
He was arrested in connection with the CID-filed case alleging that around Tk 678 crore was laundered through gold and diamond smuggling.
