State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam on Thursday said any decision regarding Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s possible visit to India will be made by the prime minister himself.
Speaking to reporters at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she said the government has not yet taken a final decision on the proposed visit, adding that the matter remains under the prime minister’s consideration.
Her remarks came amid growing speculation over the prime minister’s potential participation in the upcoming BRICS Summit in New Delhi following an invitation from India.
The government has maintained that no official announcement has been made regarding the visit, stressing that any decision will be communicated once it is finalized.
