The South Korean Embassy in Dhaka is set to launch a dedicated Korea Visa Application Centre (KVAC) to make the visa application process easier for Bangladeshi citizens.

The centre will begin operations on September 2 on Kamal Ataturk Avenue in Banani, the embassy said. The visa application process will also be revised.

Once the KVAC opens, applications for regular visas and passport collection will be handled exclusively through the centre. However, diplomatic and government visa applications confirmed through diplomatic notes, along with passport collection, will continue to be handled directly by the embassy.

Under the new system, applicants will have to book an online appointment to submit their applications through the KVAC.

The embassy said details of the appointment process and schedule would be announced separately on Thursday (August 27).

Notarisation and police clearance certificate services will continue to be provided by the embassy.

The embassy said further details on the centre’s operating hours, online appointment system, application procedures, required documents, fees and other matters would be announced later.

It advised prospective applicants to carefully follow updates regarding the new visa application centre.

The embassy said the new centre would help improve convenience for applicants and ensure more efficient visa services.
