Iran has called on countries across the Muslim world, particularly those in the Persian Gulf region, to identify their “real enemy” and unite against it.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei warned that divisions among Muslims only serve the interests of their adversaries.
According to Reuters, the written message was posted on Mojtaba Khamenei’s Telegram account as part of Islamic Unity Week celebrations marking the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Emphasising greater cooperation, joint defence and unity among Muslim countries, Khamenei said those who create divisions among Muslims, knowingly or unknowingly, are ultimately helping the enemies of Islam.
He also questioned whether Palestinians would be in such a vulnerable position today if the Muslim world were united.
In an earlier message to Iranians on Friday, Khamenei banned activities that undermine national unity and urged government officials to refrain from making discouraging statements that could weaken public morale.
Addressing Arab rulers in the Gulf, Khamenei said his “unequivocal advice” to leaders of Islamic countries, particularly in West Asia and the Gulf, was to identify their real enemies, understand their plans and confront them.
