Prime Minister Tarique Rahman held a luncheon meeting with Zayed Ra’ad Al Hussein, president and chief executive officer of the International Peace Institute (IPI), in New York on Friday.
The meeting was held as part of the prime minister’s programme during his visit to New York to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The two sides discussed international peace and security, multilateral cooperation and opportunities for joint efforts to address contemporary global challenges.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of strengthening peace, dialogue and cooperation between Bangladesh and the international community.
They exchanged views on making the UN-centred multilateral system more effective and inclusive.
The meeting took place at the Hyatt Grand Central New York, according to a press release issued by PMO.
