The government has decided to hand over the management of three state-owned jute mills to PRAN-RFL Group and Hamko Group under long-term lease agreements as part of efforts to revive the country’s struggling jute industry.
Under the arrangement, PRAN-RFL Group will take over two jute mills, while Hamko Group will assume control of one.
The companies are expected to modernise the facilities, restart production and generate employment.
The move is part of the government’s broader initiative to revive closed state-owned jute mills by bringing in private investment and improving operational efficiency.
Authorities expect the leased mills to resume operations by the end of 2026.
