Bangladesh received US$1.38 billion in remittances during the first 11 days of August 2026, marking a 45.6 percent increase from the $954 million received during the same period last year.
According to the latest data from Bangladesh Bank, expatriate Bangladeshis sent $127 million on August 11 alone.
Remittance inflows during the period from July 1 to August 11 of the current fiscal year reached $4.24 billion, up 23.8 percent from $3.43 billion recorded during the corresponding period of FY2025-26.
The strong inflow comes as Bangladesh continues to see robust growth in remittance earnings, supporting the country’s foreign exchange position.
Meanwhile, the country’s gross foreign exchange reserves stood at $36.96 billion as of August 10, according to Bangladesh Bank.
Under the International Monetary Fund’s Balance of Payments and International Investment Position Manual (BPM6) methodology, usable foreign exchange reserves stood at $32.15 billion.
